If Congress pushes out a big spending bill they might be able to lobby in on some nice defense contracts. 100% speculation on my part.

I expect GE to outlive me by a good amount, personally.

I don't mean bankrupt, just a lot smaller. GE Capital is way too big a part of the company IMO.

. . . and Jeff Immelt may well be the worst CEO in the entire Fortune 500.

I don't think Immelt has done a terrible job, he's following a legend so he's going to take heat regardless, and Jerry Yang HAS to win the worst-CEO awad, or something is wrong. GE is the gold standard of diversification though, and they have a track record of producing good management.

D/T Jack Welch not Immelt.

You're right about Yang, and he certainly tops a bunch of lists in that category. E.g., Jim Cramer Et al.
Yang gets a bit of a pass in my book though, because he actually founded Yahoo. So any jobs provided there are his doing. Any market revenue Yahoo produces would be nonexistant without Yang. He's made lousey CEO decisions, but . . . .

Immelt on the other hand hasn't founded squat. He hasn't created jobs or a company. He's really nothing but a hired gun who draws slowly and can't shoot straight.

In monster-mash speak:

"Ya-hoo -- good."

"Micro-soft -- bad."

But this is only "living dead" fun talk.

With smart/Buffett investing:

"Micro-soft . . . barry, barry good."
