I’m making about 20% more now than I was two years ago. I was able to live comfortably then and set aside some good savings.

I’m just about tapped out now. It’s starting to get horribly depressing. I work just for the government to rob me, either through taxation or inflation.

Same. We've been hardcore saving for a couple years to buy a bigger house & start a family. We're making more than we've ever made, 2 good white-collar salaries, and starting to feel like we aren't any closer now than we were 2 years ago. Feels like it's shrinking in value faster than we can put it away on top of the discouragement from seeing how fast the cost of our current, very small, house keeps increasing every year with insurances, property taxes, and utilities. We're both busting our asses at jobs that expect way more than the 8-5 and it's becoming very clear that we can only have 2 - a comfortable house, kids, or financial peace of mind - but not all three.
