Harmful side effects ? How about having perpetual sleeping problems, not eating a damn thing for a few days, and constantly drinking alcohol just to slow you down at night? Like the type of crap that will turn you into an alcoholic and have you on sleeping pills for years. You will be the most unhealthy you will ever be on it. There’s an absolute price to pay for things like this. Odds are you will withdraw away from your friends and life and become introverted. Once you start taking it you can’t do anything without it. It becomes a dependence. I won’t even get into the mental issues it causes with long term use. There’s physiological problems too
This describes me, perfectly. I've described it as snowballing. Would start out with a normal small dosage. But, I have so much going on and an already overactive brain, that even a small dosage would cause me to have sleeping issues. The next morning I would be tired. So, I would take more adderall the next day than the previous. Would get to a point that I would drink heavily to sleep at night. Basically, the "rock star" lifestyle. Upper to get moving in the morning. Downer to sleep at night. Literally what killed Michael Jackson. Depends on each person and what you have going on. I really wouldn't recommend any person getting started on it. Makes me angry, irritable. Do I get more done on it? Yes, but it's not worth it.

I’ll say this, I’m currently prescribed/taking daily and I wish I never started. In the beginning it was great, I was able to take half my prescribed dosage and get all the desired effects like focus/get work done while still maintaining a good diet, sleep pattern, and mood. Now I’m taking full dosage just to get up to baseline, sometimes I take even more. My mood is terrible at the end of the day and if I don’t consume alcohol/take melatonin (sometimes both) I literally can’t sleep. I most definitely drink more since starting, probably by a factor of 2 or 3. So end up starting my day hungover with still bad overall sleep and need an Adderall just to function. It really has turned into a viscous cycle for me and will certainly impact my long-term health if I don’t stop. Luckily, I have a great support system with family/friends that are holding me accountable while trying to get off of it.
