Good advice on Franklin. You will be hard-pressed to find a better suburb anywhere in the country. However, your budget may be a factor. You would likely spend at least 750k to find an above average home. Mt. Juliet is another suburb of Nasvhille and homes are going to be 200k to 300k less than Franklin. If East TN is okay for you, check Hardin Valley/Oak Ridge near Knoxville or Ooltewah near Chattanooga. You can get a nice house for 450k and have a similar experience. Final area to consider might be White House outside of Nashville. I would go Franklin or Mt. Juliet first. Do not consider Clarksville.

Thanks so much for the recommendations. We will have to make a couple of weekend trips to the Nashville and Knoxville areas.
Which areas of Tennessee to avoid because of flooding? I am looking for a community that is scenic, safe, conservative, and close to shopping (groceries, Target, etc...).
