Just got back from DC last month....
- tickets to get to the top of the Washington Monument need to be reserved online unless you want to arrive at 8 a.m. to try and get them.
- walking from Capitol Hill to Jefferson Monument was a nice walk and fantastic weather
- the Natural Science Museum was fantastic but sooooo crowded. Like certain exhibits you were shoulder to shoulder with people
- I stayed at Capitol Hill Hotel which was 2 blocks from the Capitol and had a few nice little restaurants
- Did the DC tour at Night and it really wasn't worth what I paid, had more fun walking and exploring myself
- 3 of the Musuems were closed due to renovations (aviation, American history, native American)
- Did not see as many homeless as I expected tbh, ran I to several crazies though due to protesting at the Capitol.
- White House has a blockade a street around it so you can not get close to take pictures. Also a homeless encampment right in front and they stink.
- I went to a couple of breweries as well
- Did not eat anywhere special, just kinda munched on pub food or a local dive bar
- Was a little disappointed in seeing the Declaration, Constitution, and Bill of Rights. Lighting was low, no photography, very crowded, a-hole guards. Then walking around the National Archive building was ok
