Good news is one of our weaknesses has been not playing Perkins enough.

Hopefully we have that self scouted and fixed.

I don’t think it’s that simple. Kiffin, as much as any coach and with so much film, can probably pick out a tendency of Perkins’ that he’s shown so far and use that to bait him into overcommitting and getting sucked up somewhere and getting the ball to where he’d be (running or passing). So we’d need to recognize that tendency of his too and say, “Harold, this is what you tend to do when you see this look—you commit just a little too early—and this is how they’re probably gonna beat you out today this formation by baiting you into doing…whatever.”

Having tendencies can actually really be to your advantage if you can recognize them in time and correctly predict how the other team will try to exploit them. Or does Ole Miss see a particular tendency of ours and try to exploit it, or do they expect we will see it too and adjust? Do they game plan around what we’ve been showing thinking we’ll keep doing it, or do they predict how we’ll adjust once we notice it ourselves and game plan towards that?

It’s like the scene in “The Princess Bride” with Wesley and the poisoned cup(s) and the bald dude who keeps trying to work out 4 or 5 moves ahead how he thinks Wesley would have thought and where he would have placed the poisoned cup and keeps changing his mind.
