I've eaten plenty of places in Miami, New York, Boston, and all over Spain and I can tell you New Orleans has incredible restaurants that can compare to anywhere in the world. You are just assuming this based off the touristy places you've probably eaten in NOLA.
Good for you. I’ve actually worked in both cities and across the globe for over 18 years in multiple Michelin star restaurants in the kitchen. I worked at what was supposed to be a NOLA premiere establishment by one of their largest groups in the city for over two and a half years. My opinion is based on experience.
The Nashville food scene is young but they’re experiencing an influx of high end very talented chefs from across the country and globe flocking to the city to open their own restaurants. With them their brining more cooks and a high standard of professionalism. Bastion, june, folk, locust, Audrey, the continental, Rolf and daughters, peninsula, tailor, yolan…Those are just a few restaurants off the top of my head that are all better than anything found in Nola at the moment.
I’ll get shite on this board for sure but it’s no secret in the industry that Nola is one of the more overrated scenes there is in the country. You’re labor market is abysmal and the drinking culture quickly deteriorates many great cooks who move their.
I love a good parkway po boy and I used to get trashed at Tracy’s in the channel but I’m not paying for whatever they serve at Cochon and I’ve never been impressed with Domenica. Commanders is a classic and I love it but gag me with a spoon at any Sue Zemanick restaurant.
Edit: let me edit this by saying I do think the mom and pop cafes and all around regular food in Nola is legit. It’s much better than the Sysco driven food scene in most metros. I’m comparing the “world class” statement.

I like your post a lot, even if I may not agree with all of it. Lot of good insight there.
Go post it on the food board.
