I elk hunted a few times with a friend in Idaho. Sometimes we were in grizzly country. Never saw one but saw fresh tracks and where they had clawed trees way up high.
He told me that if I shot one in self defense to cut the bullet out, throw it far off and top not even tell him what I did.
So much of that area was so thick that I don't think you would stand a chance if you happened upon a sow with cubs. Second time I went back I had a 10mm 1911 on me.
