Culling the population would only worsen the problem, not solve it. Their economy HAS to grow, massively and constantly, in order to contain their enormous debt issues. It cannot continue to do so when a third of their population is reaching retirement age, and the younger generations are either overwhelmingly male (see One Child and related policies), or reproducing at less than replacement rate. Their efforts to "head off" the "problem" of overpopulation is what caused this actual problem.

That's why I said that the CCP can do lots of things, but they cannot create hundreds millions of people. They are not culutrally or politically capable of bringing in tons of immigrants to make up this gap like most of the Western nations can.

Japan is in a similar predicament, though to a much smaller extent.
