LSU did everything you were supposed to do for about 3 quarters to keep the game close against a team like UT but score points. LSU had drives to keep the D fresh and held UT to field goals on numerous drives but LSU couldn't score. Without scoring it didn't matter if they were held on the first drive LSU wasn't scoring enough to win.
