I also thought there was a good chance that opening kick might've bounced out of bounds. No reason to even take the risk of fielding the short kick, and we'd start the game at the 40 instead of giving it to UT at our 25.

I thought the 2nd biggest killer was missing on the long pass to Jaray just before the half. That had potential to be a TD or at least put us in FG range. Despite all the mistakes, if we could've gone into half down 20-14 or 20-10 instead of 23-7, with the way we've been a 2nd half team all year, I think we would have had a great shot.

I thought so as well, but as was pointed out to me yesterday, you can’t really take that chance on a kickoff. If it doesn’t go out of bounds it’s a live ball and UT was in position to recover.

Bech had to field it but he was late because he lined up too deep.

The sun also definitely played a role in not being able to track it well imo.
