GM 3.0 diesel is the engine to get.
Don't know why the V8s have so many problems. The performance cars ( Cadillac Blackwing, Camaro, Corvette) do not suffer from the widespread lifter issues the truck engines do.
5.0 is a great engine especially with boost.

I have heard great things about the 3.0 but I have such a bad taste in my mouth I am done with GMs. Not to mention they only seem to put those in the top end models and want 70k for them.
