We’re in the CWD zone, so no baiting. Still covered up with bears.

The two places I manage in that area are both in Franklin Parish. One is in the zone, one not. The one in the zone has a few bears but so far we’ve been fortunate with low numbers.

I’m afraid based on the number of “outlaws” that poach the property each season, the odds are probably pretty good that some bears have been shot.

The other property is in the western part of of the parish and has been wrapped up in bears for awhile now. But we have had reduced sightings without the feeders so far this season.

So I hunt on property bordering the TRNWR in Madison Parish. We have been obeying the no feed rule.
A normal opening morning pre ban ban might have resulted in seeing 5 to 7 deer a couple being bucks.last weekend opening morning I saw 6 does and 2 bucks, none of which I shot. Saw nothing in the afternoon.
Sunday evening I killed a doe and saw a young buck.
No bear
Last season I only had 2 bear sightings: pretty sure the same bear came out mid morning ate corn and took a nap in the half sack of corn he didn’t eat. He did the same thing in the exact spot on the last Saturday of the season.
I laughed my arse off.
He was laying in the same spot while 2 does were feeding about 100 yards from him n another shooting lane.
Leave the damn bears alone.
