Driving over the basin bridge after Gustav was horrible. Even with the windows up it smelled like it was filled with dead bodies. But, to be fair, it probably is.

It also made me learn how easy it is to do without “stuff”. Was without power for a month after laura. Was without internet for MUCH longer. Got used to the sounds of the generators and honestly, the night the power came back on and all the generators turned off, it was the worst night of sleep I had since the night before it hit. Took me a while to get used to things going back to normal.
