This is what happens when government, and specifically government officials, do not fear their constituency.

I cannot imagine paying taxes to fund a police dept that would not show up to a trespasser at my home and remove them.... it wouldn't have to be that timely... just come get the guy off my porch some time in the next few days?

ETA: It turns out the police have been out there a couple times.

So it's less of a police problem and more of a DA/Correctional problem.

Also another problem people initially blame on police where the root fault lies more with legislators, prosecutors, judges and correctional systems.

Cali laws on squatters are fricked to begin with, making them ripe for abuse.
