If Penn State makes it we will have another blow out in the championship game. Florida, USC, Texas would all destroy Penn State. PSU looked weak in the game against Ohio State in my opinion.

All the Texas fans here are saying their dream macthup is against Penn State. I quickly ask why? They say b/c it will be a easy win, lol. Florida fans also say the same thing. I don't know if USC fans want to play Penn State. They might b/c of a easy win and another Big 10 champ blow out by the Pac 10 champ. USC might actually want to play a real team in the championship game against the SEC or a rematch with Texas.

Honestly, does anyone actually think Penn State could hang with USC, Florida, or Texas???

Have you seen their schedule??? They have played nobody this entire year. Yes, the Big 10 is down this year.

Schedule=cupcake.

Joe Pa's propensity to be conservative takes away any chance PSU has of being competitive.

Penn St. looks good. Very physical and have some speedy playmakers. Probably the best D-line in the nation.

i think they could hang w/ texas due to some defensive problems i think they have. usc and uf are the two best teams playing right now IMO.

That argument presents no foundation to stand on whatsoever.

If you want to go that route, they blew out an Oregon State team that beat USC.

The only real difference this year is that Michigan sucks. Penn State has stepped up to take their place, so everything is back to normal.

2008 Penn State > 2006/07 Ohio State... but not by a whole lot.

The other contenders would be at minimum a 7-point favorite.

Minnesota and Northwestern are both MUCH better. Michigan St is better. Iowa's better. The Big 10 as a whole is better.

FWIW, I think 06 OSU would beat 08 PSU, but 08 PSU would beat 07 OSU. Not that it really matters.

There are currently four rank teams in the Big 10. Penn State, OSU, Minn.,and Northwestern. Penn State doesn't even play Minnesota or Northwestern this year. But they do play the bottome five teams in the BIG 10.

But it's ok b/c Penn State beefed up the SOS with some great out of conference wins against: Coastal Carolina, Temple, and Syracuse.

The Big ten looks better because, for the most part, the out of conference schedules are horrible. Even worse than normal. You can pump the record up playing those types of games. This is the case with Minnesota for instance.

That same '06 team that got whipped 41-14 by Florida?

BIg-10 is no 2 rated conference by Sagarin behind the Big-12 and just above the ACC

And LSU's non-conference schedule is tough? App. State, Tulane, North Texas, and Troy?

Texas played FAU, UTEP, Arkansas, and Rice.
