Holy shite that eye wall is right on the tip of key west no way they expected that from the last 24 hour projections. Fox News interviewed their mayor this morning she said they were prepared and didn’t give the mandatory evacuation due to projections. Let’s hope she was correct.

That's just a rain band going through Key West. The eye wall is that C shape off to the west

The Keys (especially Key West) are amazingly resilient to hurricanes. I was down in Marathon a week after Cat 4 Irma slammed head on and it was amazing how well it did (considering).
The building codes in Miami Dade & Monroe County have been very strict since Andrew and even previous structures were generally so well built, they were fortresses.
