I saw that when I searched, but wanted to avoid Karu sato. Not sure if I will have time to wait if I order it. I’ll just use some dark brown sugar I suppose

Karu Sato is apparently what makes the drink. There's plenty of simple syrups out there made with brown sugar/molasses that should be sufficient.
