I use to use a hard case and they broke the locks off of them coming back from Grand Cayman.
I use a club glove soft case now and never had an issue since it has plenty of protection.

You're not supposed to put locks on luggage is why. I've traveled with my clubs multiple times to Grand Cayman as well, never had a problem.
