Bless your heart for thinking that was the gotcha question that boxed me in.

Remember at the outset of the war when the huge convoy was headed towards Kiev, and the Pro Russia poli bros collectively were stating that everyone thought Russia would just go for the SE region but Putin is actually going to take Kiev with the quickness. And then do you remember about 1 month later when that convoy was quite literally stuck in the mud, those exact same poli bros were then stating Putin was a genius because the convoy was just a massive deflection they were using to actually take over other regions...

Do you remember that, or will you pretend that didn't happen?

If that doesn't answer your question about what their goals were vs what actually has happened and how the Pro Russia poli board just moves the goalposts then I can't help you if you can't see the terribly obvious.

So I'll ask again, you actually think that this has basically gone according to plan for Russia and they've accomplished at least as much as they planned for in the 1st 7 months of this war?

Russia has ordered withdrawal of troop from Kharkiv Oblast. Russia is losing this war in dramatic fashion. We could be weeks away from a complete withdrawal of Russian forces.

Kharkiv & Chuhuiv direction

Russian command, after the successful Ukrainian operation in the vicinity of Balakliia, Kupyansk and Izium, ordered the remaining Russian forces to withdraw across the border and Oskil river.
Ukrainian forces subsequently entered dozens of settlement, mostly without any resistance. Visually confirmed villages are marked with blue, the ones we’re currently missing visual proof are marked with gray color.
Ukrainian troops reached the border with Russia in the afternoon on September 11, 2022.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Battle of Kharkiv is over.

Invasion Day 200 summary:

Ukrainian success on the battlefield forced Russians to order a withdrawal of its forces from Kharkiv Oblast. The enemy wasn’t able to keep up with Ukrainian progress, and the reinforcements didn’t arrive in time. Russian forces retreated in panic, leaving hundreds of equipment and tons of supplies behind. Ukrainian Army thus not only liberated a lot of ground, but also captured equipment worth equipping at least one new brigade.
