not that simple, we have to stay if we want 100% of our RR retirement and benefits. It's too good once we are vested to walk away from. what most don't know, that the wife will get half of what we will draw on retirement. The unions set it up that way because we are away from home so much, it's called a widow's pension.

Unions have been able to preserve pensions much better than non union positions. In fact, non-union pensions are probably non existent now.

So, bitch all yall want, but you can retire at a decent age and still be set.
Not so with others. Many,many people that have no pension to look forward to will probably have to work til they're 70 before they can retire.
