Interesting take. I know three guys who work for the railroad out of Addis and Livonia and even they admit it’s a pretty sweet gig.
They definitely work for their money, but none of them claim to be mistreated or undervalued.




Same here, the couple of people I know who work for railroads love it and say they are probably overpaid for what they do.

likely very new and minimally qualified for what they do, I'll never understand that sentiment from an educated, trained, qualified, and experienced professional, plus, I hear a lot of people make statements like that, usually in a social setting meant to imply that they're "raking it in" as a subtle brag when they're in fact not really doing that great

This is a lie. A true railroader is one of the unhappiest people on planet earth. It’s one of the most toxic work environments known to man.
