I am not mad that I’ve paid off my financial commitments and won’t benefit from this. I am bothered by the message.
I paid off my loans by working as much overtime as I could get and taking remote assignments. I am not bothered by this. Actually, I am proud of this.
I am bothered that the concept of ‘earned success’ is deemphasized by this. Obtaining a college degree demonstrates earned success but so does fulfilling your financial obligations.
