TD is hardly a bastion of free speech. They regularly delete anything they don’t like or anchor threads. They are just more benevolent Nazis who don’t want to destroy their business model.

This is the last Internet 1.0-style site I even go to. There are very, very few left, and most of the survivors are dominated by lefty mods.
The tech giants have everyone cornered into their own domain. Independent websites are being gradually DDoS'd or sabotaged out of existence.
