I have no clue where I got this in my head, but I always thought Mintzy's schtick if you will was that he never stopped working and just was always doing content or whatever for Barstool.

You probably just misinterpreted some sarcastic comments about him 
think he’s well liked but he’ll disappear for a couple weeks and release a video of him at a Wednesday night SEC baseball game and talk about being the voice of the SEC
