That's exactly the type of movie I was trying to imply, maybe poorly worded in the OP.
Over-the-top, always entertaining, you can jump in any moment type of movie.
When I rewatched Training Day recently after about the 10th time, it just felt like that type of movie if it was more PG, would be on a TNT rotation every Saturday in the 2000s like Shawshank.
