I'm sure it's all a bunch of 2nd and 3rd hand "my buddy said" stories. He was definitely flamboyant so people automatically hated him for that. I was on his boat a bunch and made a few LSU road games with him in his RV. He got a shite ton of attention everywhere he went and most definitely welcomed it with open arms. He loved the spotlight.
