Gonna make it harder to throw degrom and max twice in a 7 games series I would think.

Wouldn't that also make it harder for us to throw Strider and Fried twice?

They will go on 4 days rest if they have to, if I had to guess.

Do you think fewer Fried and Strider appearances is as meaningful as less deGrom and Scherzer? Braves typically go extremely bullpen heavy in the postseason anyway. Fried and Strider are not facing anybody a third time through barring something crazy. Braves didn’t even let Fried see the 7th inning of game 6 of the WS when he was dominating and had a 7 run lead and didn’t let Anderson see the 6th inning of a game he had a no hitter in.

It hurts the Braves in that Minter/Iglesias/Matzek/Jansen etc will have fewer off days but I would deem fewer deGrom and Scherzer appearances more impactful than a less fresh Braves bullpen.

Scherzer has not been good on 3 days rest and last year it took so much out of him when he did it in relief that he couldn’t even pitch game 6 on 5 days rest. I seriously doubt they’ll ever ask deGrom to do it.

It likely eliminates two deGrom/Scherzer starts over the course of a postseason which can be extremely impactful imo. Mets are obviously very good but when you have the top two arms in the sport arguably you don’t want the playing field leveled at all.
