I don't know that, even with some of those guys taking a step forward, we get Ty Floyd's inning count from that group combined next season.
I like some of the upside of these guys, but yea finding guys to fill the innings that Skenes/Floyd gave is going to be hard. Especially if you start to account for the annual injuries that are bound to happen.
And then you start looking at playoff innings, when they really condensed things and buckled down, they are losing a ton.
All that to say, it will be a work in progress. Not sure how we can laud depth at this point.

I think this comment kind of hits it on the head. A lot of arms available but not many proven. The work in progress will be real with this staff and it will definitely take multiple guys to take a step up to get the team and staff where they need to be.

100%. I try to remind myself that we’re never as deep as it seems on paper. We went in to spring practices wondering how could Jay/Wes possibly find enough innings, considering all of the potential starting options. Within two months, Taylor, Shores, and Edwards go down and what seemed like the deepest part of the team go flipped on it’s head.
I don’t think it’s safe to feel like you have enough pitching until you are nearing the postseason and you start realizing that some good arms are going to see fewer innings.
ETA: Apologies for my post now looking like backtracking. The Luke Hill news broke while I was typing that out.
