Tailgate for Tennessee game

I’m from VA and looking to come cheer for LSU vs Tenn on 10/8. We have a small group that wants to hire a tailgate service. We tried to hire Southern Tradition and they are sold out. Revelry is real expensive. Are there any other options? Thanks for the help.

How big is your small group? If it’s less than 6-8 you’ll do much better walking around and sampling tailgates and enjoying the atmosphere.

Since it’s your first game I think you’ll have a much more enjoyable time walking around rather than being tied down to one spot.

No point in hiring one of those companies….they are set up for corporations and charge a fortune. Just post here a couple of weeks before the game and we’ll tell you what is going on. If I am setting up for that game, y’all can come tailgate with me.

We hosted some Virginia Tech fans that were roaming around. They came to us about an hour before kickoff and said it was the best experience they'd ever had for a road game. There is a lot to be said for the hospitality of Tiger Fans - until Kickoff, ha!
Tennessee has been named the 3rd best team in the conference by several "experts". For many years they were the biggest nemesis LSU had starting in 1959 spoiling a probable repeat national championship. LSU had a worse record against the Vols than ANYone.
I'm not sure I buy that assessment but their QB, Hendon Hooker, ironically a Hokie transfer is a very good QB. LSU hasn't seen them since the crazy ending when Tennessee had 13 players on the field to help LSU run a game wining play. Oddly enough, LSU only had 10! What a sickening loss that must have been !

We have played them in Knoxville since then, in 2017. I was there, the weather was awful, it felt like a tropical storm was passing through. We did win that one, though, less controversially.

Yes that was crazy weather! The rain was funneling in a circle right before halftime and the water was above your ankles by the concessions! It was their first game after the Butch Jones fire.

How many people? I may have some options!

Try again closer to the game as many LSU fans will cancel their plans when they headed into that game with a 2-3 record.

I am also coming to the game, first time in Baton Rouge. It'll just be me and wife, so it sounds like just walking around and taking in the atmosphere is the way to go. We're Vols fans, but we come in a peace. Anything else we should know about the tailgating and best area to walk around? Looking forward to visiting Death Valley!
