We picked up Robbie Grossman, who hopefully is better than Mike Ford. Beyond that how did they address any of the offensive issues at the trade deadline? They didn’t. With all of the moves made around the deadline by multiple clubs, AA didn’t do shite to improve the offense. It is what it is. Brandon Drury, who cranked out a grand slam in his 1st at bat in San Diego, would have been an easy pickup for the Braves. Vogelbach was a trade pickup for the Mets, albeit we don’t need another left handed bat, but we do need some offense. Personally I think AA does a helluva job of working contracts for homegrown talent. I also think he got lucky last year with Rosario, Soler, and Pederson and caught lightning in a bottle. I understand not wanting to further deplete the farm system, but he could have done something more to improve the offense than pick up one guy.
