He also didn't specify there would NOT be any teenage boys in attendance. I too have cooked for large numbers of people at given times and know for sure young teens will throw off any proportional plans you may have.
And I've always adhered to the theory of having too much as opposed to too little. You can always stop frying when it looks like things are winding down.
