it didn't happen, but if...if LSU had beaten Saban last year as a 27.5 underdog. there's your once in a lifetime football story. To begin with how often is LSU that big of a dog? Not even when vengeful Spurrier was naming his number were we that lightly thought of.
To give you some idea, Phil steele once charted a whole season, how often an underdog of a certain amount of points was an outright winner: so a 1 point dog won 49% of the time, all the way up to a 35 point dog winning 0.05% of the time. the 35 point underdog winner happened once that particular season across all of college football, and was the highest that year (the highest ever was +42.5 Stanford coached by Harbaugh over USC).
a win that night would have been the ultimate puncher's chance upset. I'm gonna get downvoted for this, but I was proud that night. In defeat, I get it, still puffed my chest out even though we didn't get the last laugh.
