Absolutely. Earthwork is often one of the greatest expenses of a roadway project. If a person had a big track of land with IIB3 or better soil they could make a fortune around my area

Recently had some timber cut -chip and saw,saw logs and some pulpwood.Got a better price back in 1986.

So is the price going to continue going down or will this stop it from crashing with the RE market?

Yeah, the retail price will keep dropping until it levels out. Futures market almost dipped below $400 yesterday. It was running around $350 (seriously) in the years before 2020 so it should eventually get close to what prices were before.

You do realize someone has to find the trees, cut them down, transport them, treat them, size them, etc.

You're paying for people who find it and make the wood usable for the modern world, not the existence of wood. People use wood, no one trades it because it exists on its own.

Yep have 70 acres of 15 yr old planted pine. Maybe my grand children can make a few bucks off them one day. Thankfully I bought the place to deer hunt
