Plausible AND believable. Sensed that as well even early on. Trump even admitted he feared MSM reaction.
However, as CiC he needed to bite the bullet and trust his judgement in careful due diligence in investigations & research -- then let the chips fall. Even AT that time. (Not only in hindsight).
