I made no argument with respect to the appropriateness of disclosing changes in value of investments
But paper losses (being felt by every investment firm on the planet) that will inevitably be recouped are not worth a headline

You said they were meaningless. Those losses have meaning and shouldn’t be ignored. The crash of the housing market is going to be beautiful.
