First off, I'm not picking Rose. But was asked who else could win it if not for the international favorites. "Dark Horse"
Last time I checked, Zalatoris' odds are half of which Rose's odds are.
Secondly, Rose finished 6th here in 2015 and has a three Top-15s in last six starts including a 4th place in Canada. So to say his form is bad is an insult.
Third, Rose has actually won a PGA event including a major so I'm not worried about him closing.
Finally, both Rose and Zalatoris have finished 2nd place at Augusta to which five of the T-6 finishers in 2015 at St.Andrews were former Masters champions. (Z Johnson, Spieth, Day, Willett, Garcia all T-6 or better that year) Adam Scott was T-10 and guys like Louis and Leishman we're T-2 are good at Augusta.
So there's obviously a correlation and Rose fits that model

Could be about the last time he was close to a win to be honest.

And t69 last week and t37 in the US Open. One of those top 15s was in the Zurich as well.

Lol, the dude has folded a shite ton of times.
And your overal logic is faulty anyway because we've had tons of first time major winners in the last 8 years or so. Hardly anyone outside of Keopka has been a multiple time winner in that period. Thomas has 2, Phil won one, tiger in 19.
