Loser of the LSU/UGA game likely hits downward spiral

The winner likely finishes up and wins the rest of its games...good chance to anyway. LSU wins and they have a much higher probability with the 5 home games and only @ Arkansas. UGA, meanwhile, is getting through the real nasty part of its schedule, but still has UF and @ Auburn, along with a tough end of the year battle with Tech.
Ok...To the point, this game will be HUGE psychologically, to which ever team doesn't come out on top. LSU, if it loses, would be in a situation nearly like that of 2006, when getting behind Arky 2 games was just too much, despite beating the Hogs. LSU, behind Bama 2 games, and remaining the only game where Bama may be the dog, would know its NC hopes would be gone, as well as a chance to play in ATL. They'd need some really major help, anyway. Even if they beat Bama, who else will? LSU's disadvantage to losing this game is that Bama is still undefeated.
UGA, if loses to LSU, woule be a game in a half -more or less - in back of Florida and would have to depend on beating the Gators (something they don't do much of) and win the rest of their games. UGA's schedule is still quite brutal, as mentioned. A loss to LSU and the snowball effect might make them lose 2-3 more. UGA's major disadvantage is that they have lots to do other than play UF and LSU.
I predict the winner of this game will end up in Atlanta. The loser will finsh with three SEC losses. That's how big this game is, IMO.

Actually, the only thing a loss to LSU really changes for UGA is its likely elimination from the MNC race. As far as the SECC goes it changes very little. The SECE will still go to the winner of the UGA/UF game. And the series is 2-2 in the last 4 games with UGA having dominated Florida last year.

Agreed, is a must win for LSU, GA still in title hunt with a loss

The way to beat UGA is to blow up our bad OL thereby limiting what Stafford and Moreno can do... especially Stafford. If you give him time, he will kill you... especially now with AJ Green and him really starting to get in a rhythm.
Alabama did it. South Carolina did it as well... but the defense played well, and Stafford dragged our offense's corpse far enough to get a win that day. Probably his best game yet. The rest of the offense, even Moreno, just flat did not show up for that game.
I've always thought LSU will give UGA a lot of problems for these reasons. DL blows up the OL and pretty much shuts our offense down.
LSU wins 27-17, imho.
That said, we match up a whole lot better against Florida whose DL (and LBs after Spikes) is not as good (I know they played y'all well... but their DL is still not that great).

NO, UGA is NOT in the title hunt...not the NC title anyway and that was the expecations of a lot of their fanbase, despite the brutal schedule. If they lose, they'd HAVE to beat UF, just like we'd HAVE to beat Bama. The sense of urgency is greater for us, because Florida already has a loss.
Don't let UGA fans fool you. Anything less than an SEC c'ship is unacceptable. Remind you of another fanbase?
Downward spiral might be harsh, but a sense of immediate urgency is applicable here. Whoever loses this game will have their backs against the wall BIG TIME. IF UGA loses, they must rely on winning out or Florida losing two more games here and there. If we lose, as I said, we have a 10 percwent shot at ATL and a high probablity of finishing with 3-4 total losses.

So if we lose 2 games for the year we're in a downward spiral? WTF? It's not the end of the world if we lose to UGA. We have a very young team and to just lose 2 games would a very good season. The rest of the SEC should be very worried for next the 3 or 4 years.
UGA is the only team left that has a good shot at beating us. We won't lose to Bama at home.

At least as importantly, it will be physically brutal game and might wear out both teams. I dont know about UGA (nor do I care) but LSU losing that BYE week might cost them dearly later on, I'm thinking Ole Piss.

You sound like that idiot on the Rush and Hannagrif post game show after the Florida game. Please rethink what you just typed. We didn't have a 16 home game losing streak to them for kicks.

Put it this way. Winner likely has a better shot than loser to win out.
I'm telling you...loser of this game takes a blow to the gonads. This one's big. Pressure is on.

Bama has more problems than we do but we have more room for improvment than them. I'll say it again, we won't lose to Bama at home! I could care less what Bama did in the past this is the here and now. Days of paying players and getting away it are over along with that 16 game losing streak.
Your sounding like some bandwagon fan thinking the world will end if LSU doesn't win 12 or 13 games and go to a BCS bowl. We should, even if we lose to UGA, still win 10 games.

LSU needs to get off to a good start scoring points. Needs to quit giving up 17 point quarters.
