This set of verses actually applies more to men who display, or put on a show of Godly devotion. They were expected to be leaders an examples to the nation.
So no, does not pertain to anything political, or the business of the world. The Bible actually gives you all (and back then pagan nations) a pass due to spiritual ignorance.
