It’s weird language for people who don’t believe that believers are the church. If believers are the church, then there’s no inherent conflict with “separation of church and state” and believers directing the government according to their values.

While I don't at all want this country to be a theocracy, religion has 100% influenced our government. A lot of the principles of the Constitution were largely taken directly from the Bible.
