I was going to type a long reply, and then simply landed on this.

How old, (approximately) are you?

ill be 40 in a couple months. i know plenty that take care of themselves and lift/train that are the ages i said and are in amazing health.

i say amazing because its so uncommon. you mentioned yourself, you dont lift nor do any real form of resistance training which is not surprising as less than 10% of the population in the US does and even less across the world. maybe half of that does real training, most that do that go in and hit a couple sets on some machines with really light weight not coming close to failure and not practicing any form of overload.

resistance training(outside of sleep) is the number 1 anti-aging tool we have. trust me when i say i know the science behind this and am pretty well educated in this area. do yourself a favor and go read the barbell presciption by andy baker. you will not regret it if you take his advice.

especially considering the fact that you are only in your 50s which isnt old at all.
