Let's take a look at a few things...
1. South Carolina has the #4 ranked pass defense in the country and the #6 ranked over-all defense in the NCAA.
2. SC gave up only 256 total yards to Georgia, and had it not been for 2 turnovers, they likely would have beaten UG.
3. In the second half, SC gained a total of 42 yards, 34 of those yards came on the first possession of the second half. In fact here are all of their second half possessions...
First: 9 plays for 34 yards
Second: 3 plays for 4 yards
Third: 3 plays for 1 yard
Fourth: 4 plays for 6 yards
Fifth: 5 plays -2 yards
Sixth: 2 plays -5 yards
4. Outside of the Jarrett Lee interception SC got into the red-zone only twice.
5. Garcia rushed 9 times for 63 yards in the first half. He rushed 3 times for 6 yards in the second half. (excluding sacks)
6. LSU held SC to 1.3 yards/rush.
South Carolina is a better team than some on this site have given them credit for. This was a better win than the score indicates. IMO the team gelled in the second half of that game, both offensively and defensively. LSU didn't have huge holes to run through, but found a way to get yards. This was a good win.

1 td was bogus.

LSU could have easily won by 3+ TDs.

Think the Ref did that for us.

I have never (escept for alburn game) been more upset with the TD call before half time. THere is NO FREAKIN WAY he was in and to think if that would have cost us the game. I am still pissed about that. It like the replay ref came back so fast he didnt even look at it. I hate the refs.

If we had tried to score on the last drive it would have been 31-17. Outside of a shitty 5 min. at the end of the first half. LSU controled this game.

I do agree, but I think our D took it like a slap in the face bc they came out PISSED in the 2nd half. That TD could have been a blessing..

Mike Patrick called it right. They were going to uphold the call no matter what the call wason the field because they didn't have a good angle to look at. I can't figure out why there wasn't a goal line camera from the sideline.

I feel that the ref on the field didnt even see what the hell happened. It took so long fo rhim the make the call and as he ran up he saw that the RB's head was end and just called a TD. Unreal. I also cant understand why there is not a beeter camera angle on the goal line.

It never seems like there is a goal line angle, to me this is the first spot they need to take care of..

I know what you mean. Its 2008 for goodness sake. Its like everyone game there is a goal line play. I wish there would be a vertical line the comes up at the goal line at the plane. With all of this CG on the field you think that they would have thought of this already. I mean if they can put a Home Depot CG on the field than I am sure they can do this.

Actually sort of think the way the score ended might actually works better for LSU with the voters. You know winning a tough game and all that.

I always say that I would have rather win ugly than lose pretty. I think that sums up this game to a T.

How bout this. Do you think that if the call on the field was not TD they would have over turned the call. ???? Makes me think that they would not have but who knows.

That second half was pretty in my book. There was nothing fluke about that win. LSU punches that last one in, and the ref makes the right call on USC's non-touchdown in the first half and it looks like a blowout.

Not many of the "experts" picked us to win that game. I say it was a big victory for LSU.

I wonder how the refs sleep at night. I have noticed over the last few years that they are getting more calls wrong on the field. I am all for the replay system but the rule that it has to be without a doubt is kind of crazy. There is no way he was in but since a field ref says ok td even if he didnt see the play becuase of a bad camera angle they keep the call the same. freakin refs they are kind of like kickers. hate em but you have to have them.
