It got vanilla for a while. After the drive early in the game with Hatch and Lee switching off and a lot of diverse play calling, it became pretty much the same ole thing until late in the 3rd. Then they started using both QBs much more again and it worked. I think you will see much more of that from here on out, assuming it keeps working, just like you will see much more of KW as long as he can hit a hole. I think what you call vanilla is sometimes the offense going through their gameplan and making then adjustments are made.
Hatch gives the offense a real advantage (despite all the Hatch haters). With Lee in there it will continue to be vanilla. He is too young to read defenses and coverages. Of his pass plays, I think they ran about 5 different ones all night. Hell they ran the same play to Byrd 3 times. That shows a limited playbook for Lee. Hatch adds a factor that Lee won't bring and gives the defense something else to think about.
Either way, as long as we win it doesnt' matter.
