I hate cox and badly want to get rid of them. Until recently they’ve been my only high speed option. I called AT&T today and they were offering “Earthlink Fiber” at 300 Mbps for $59.99/month + $12/month “modem rental” with 12 month service agreement. Still cheaper than cox.

Does anyone have experience with this option? I had ATT Uverse before with no problems but its not available in my area, nor is ATT Fiber yet. Any insight is appreciated.

Does earthlink actually have their own fiber? Around here they can only resale internet services.

If it is the same way there, I'd try and find the actual fiber provider. You can probably get that fiber service a bit cheaper.

I'm guessing it's just ATT, but you're paying a middle man?? Am I wrong here?

hard to say. In my area, At&t doesn't let anyone resale their fiber until they have been there a while. If at&t doesn't show as available on the at&t website, then it probably isn't at&t.

Yeah, I thought Earthlink just resells other company's infrastructure. Are you sure you were talking to AT&T?

It was weird. I spoke with ATT and they said they could “offer” fiber through earthlink as a special offer. I also have read that earthlink uses other companies’ infrastructure. The only provider to my house is cox. Cox is more $$ though. Thats why I’m confused too. ATT is also installing fiber in my neighborhood but not on my block ??. Weird
