My mom is from the Detroit area. Many years ago we family vacationed in the Upper Peninsula area around July 4th holiday. The night of July 4, my dad and I slept in the car because everyone else was in the camper. It got down to 32 degrees that night, I will never forget it. Beautiful area to be outdoors. I remember it getting fairly warm during the day.

I've never been to the UP proper, but I have spent time in the Wisconsin northwoods about 25 miles West. That area is awesome! As to my previous post about dork county, it runs parallel to the UP across lake Michigan
