I was in a couple of writers groups when I lived in BR. I'm plodding away at a novel myself. Moved to Houston several years ago; it's hard to find good writers groups here...surprising for such a big city.
If you're in BR, check the EBRPL website. They might have links to writers groups there. I think I saw they're offering a workshop this summer. Actually, check the library wherever you live if you're in a decent sized city.
BTW I'd be willing to trade a chapter or two when/if you have something to share. I think we do have several aspiring writers on TD!
