Possibly NSFW
Randy Newman didn’t believe the North was less racist. He made the case they were more so and hypocritical as well. He’s quite the lyrical polemicist it seems.
[Be warned: Newman’s lyrics and frequent use of an offensive racist term to make his point is possibly NSFW and currently beyond the pale of generally acceptable discourse and discussion. Despite that, every recording artist should have unfettered license to lyrically express themselves and their point of view. All artists should have that freedom of expression. Anything less is censorship.]
From his masterpiece album Good Old Boys-Randy Newman’s scathing musical indictment of racism in general and
Liberal hypocrisy in particular- Rednecks.
“We got no-necked oil men from Texas.
Good old boys from Tennessee.
College men at LSU,
went in dumb, come out dumb too,
hustling ‘round Atlanta in their alligator shoes,
getting drunk every weekend at the barbecues,
and _____ ______ ___ _______ ____.”
[Chorus]

What kind of fool supposes the North is any less racist?
