I know many on here wanted LSU "to really show Spurrier by going for the td". But I think it's much more classy to take the knee. Up until the final snap, LSU was driving to take the TD and that was enough for me.

I would be a hypocrite to have whined and cried (like I have) about the team we're playing running up the score on us, and turn right around and forget that I did that and wanted LSU to do the same last night.

Two wrongs do not make a right.

The smart thing to do will always be ridiculed by the RANT's clueless!

agree there was no point in scoring on that drive. we were able to run out the clock. different story under the old clock rules

I would have tried to score if not for the penalty. In this day in age thats what the BCS system does. A 14 pt. win is more impressive than a 7. You have to remember that most voters dont watch the games, they just look at the scores and stats. Sure the knee was classy and safe, but I dont consider a 14 point win running up the score.

Yeah. Who cares about impressing voters with style points anyway?

if he runs a play, we fumble or throw a pick six, then everyone over here would want to fire les.

I think when the clueless coaches poll is voted on by the SID's this morning.. it'll be based on a quick scan of the scores from last night. That being said, LSU beat an unranked team by one play.

Probably would have gotten more votes if the score was 31-17.

I don't think you can classify going up by 14 as "running up the score".

I don't have an issue with them not scoring but I do think they were trying to, were going to but had some time mgmt issues before that last play, the kneel down. Looked to me like they got caught short of time and then just said do the kneel.

LSU is way out of the mix for impressing voters right now. Last week put the cap on that one. The best thing LSU can do now is just focus on winning the game being played and not the damn polls.

I'll commend it, as long as you don't bitch when LSU is left out as the third 1 loss team for the BCSNC.

What will you say when USC, who lost to a CRAPHOLE OSU team, edges out LSU who lost on the road to Top 10 UF team, squeaks past LSU for the #2 spot?

Right this minute, about 50 writers and coaches who DID NOT SEE THE GAME, are reading ESPN's headlines that say:

1- LSU ekes out at 24-17 win (over 5-2 SC)

2- USC lights em up!!! (over 1-7 Wash)

Who do you think they are voting higher???

i dont think style points will erase 51-21, all we can do is take care of business and get into the SECCG

I do not know what it had to do with "class",
there was no reason to "risk" at that time.
It was the play to run.

i think at this point Miles just wanted the W. He didn't want to have to have a miracle play to win it.

One game at a time my friend. This was an SEC victory. If we win out we will be SEC champs. you can't vote against that.

If LSU would have plowed it in for the score, everybody would have thought ThaT was the smart play.
