You line up in the I formation with 2 wr and run Scott 95% of the time on FIRST down. Up to the 4th qtr, LSU ran 15 times to 7 passes on 1st down.
The Tigers were constantly in 2nd and 7, or 8 to go. Yea I know I'm not the coach, but its a dead giveaway in that particular formation. Open it up sir. I'm through venting.

you mean like when Holliday sits on the sidelines for 2 series then suddenly breaks huddle......and SURPRISE!! he gets the ball on the play??
that sort of dead giveaway??

we were protecting our quarterbacks and for good reason

maybe it's just me, but I don't have a problem holding the ball and controlling the clock, even when only getting a few yards a pop, it showed in the 4th quarter, their D was dead tired.

I'm all for some play action, or a few misdirection plays here and there.

I agree....but I did like it in the 4th quarter when we were dominating the line of scrimmage..........right up the gut.

You have to have quarterbacks that can hit the receivers before we can throw more often. I do agree that our offense is not what I would have expected this year from a play calling aspect.

My wife picked up this trend of almost running exclusively on first downs. For it to noticed by a very casual observer

Yeah. We need to mix it up a little bit more.

Yea how bout Trindon Holiday? He comes in the game and the opposing team knows he's getting the ball. He should not come off the field on offense.

You mean 65% of the time

I mean Scott ran 95% of the 15 times on first down. Sort of a pattern, eh?

Lee should at least have the ability to audibilize out of the run up the middle to a play action pass if he sees too many defensive players in the box. I'm not sure if he's been given that ability yet, but he should have it.

When your QB is constantly looking at his playbook cheatsheet on his wrist, the key is to keep it simple stupid!

There was a 3rd and 9 in the 2nd qtr and they play action pass. WTF? who are you fooling on 3rd and 9 Crowton?

Ball control!!!!
LSU needed to keep South Carolina's offense off of the field. LSU's QB's can not wing it like Chase Daniels so we need to keep them in managable down and distances. LSU was getting 3-4 yards on first down most of the time, and if not for false starts would have had a decent down and distance. South Carolina had the top rated defense in the SEC before last night.

And yet most of the time, Holiiday still cannot be stopped. It seems like we will be waiting forever for Holliday to get the ball 5+ times a game.(Not counting kickoffs.)
