No. I go shopping every day and I know when something is coming up short and what the alternatives are. Shortages don't happen all of a sudden. They are gradual. You have plenty of time to make priorities and what to buy ahead of time.
IE, I've got 2 weeks of dog chew sticks left. The last time it ran out the resupply was 3 weeks later. So today I checked the store and they had only 1 big bag left. I bought it instead of waiting 2 weeks like I normally would. You can do this with most items if you pay attention when you're shopping.

I got tons of canned food and freezers full of meat. If push comes to shove I have 100 acres worth of Deer, Turkey and Rabbits I can shoot. Plus all the crops we could grow. Not really worried about it.
